Lovely Lady Things

Back between Christmas and New Years I decided to get a few misc. lady things for myself while my credit card was still nice and hot. You know, before the post holiday spending guilt sets in. : )

 

 

On the list, a few things from Rifle Paper Company, something made of Hobnail Milk Glass, Bakers Twine and Paper Straws!

From Rifle Paper Company I got coasters and gift tags.  For the bakers twine,  I decided on Red, Orange, Blue and Purple.  Is that enough? I might need more colors.  I coordinated my paper straws with similar colors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then I set my sights to Etsy for some Hobnail Milk Glass.  I wanted a vase, but the first item I ordered was more of a planter, so back to Etsy again for another try.  Nailed it the second time.  And due to my mistake, I now have a planter AND a vase! : )

 

 

 

 

 

 

I got the straws and bakers twine from Save on Crafts and Hey Yo Yo.

 

Spring!

I am hoping to carve out some time this week to blog.  My camera had gone missing, along with some photos on the memory card I wanted to blog about...and today, I am happy to report it is no longer missing! Woo Hoo! I went threw the mail basket and there is was, hiding under mail.  So many reasons, it is good to sort through your mail. : )

Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day!  How about a succulent planter to celebrate?  I took this picture at a clients house years ago, and I stumbled upon it yesterday at work looking for some other images.  I figured it was worth sharing.  I think I might need a succulent planter on my patio this year.  I want one in the center of the outdoor table but that damn umbrella is always ruining my 'tablescape' plans!

Welcome

Guess what is gone???? The ugliest door mat in the world!!!! Remember when I was really brave and shared with you the really awful door mat on our front stoop?  The door mat that someone with a design degree should have thrown out upon first laying eyes on it, yet I had it on our front stoop for a whole year????

Well it is finally in the trash where it belongs and nice new Welcome mat has taken it's place! : )

Thank you Mom and Dad!!!!

 

 

 

And the front stoop is also looking a little bit springy!  I got some pansies planted the other day.  I mixed pale yellow and pale blue/purple.  It is nice to have something growing! Winter is over!

Ferns and Mini Daffodils

I hit up the nursery the other day and got some ferns and a mini daffodil. : )  I also got some pansies for some of my pots.  I'll post more pictures once I do something with them, but for now, I am just enjoying that there is some life in my house!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ladies Brunch

It had been a while since I entertained so I invited a few ladies over for brunch this weekend. : )

 I was very excited to put out things like cloth napkins, candle sticks and my new paper straws.  It is fun to set a nice table!

  I forgot to take pictures of the food, but I served a strata and fresh fruit with vanilla yogurt, granola and almonds.

 

Nicole made us a lemon cake, which I did snap a picture of. : )

 

  Picture the top right image with champagne in the bucket and frozen fruit in the bowl.  Frozen fruit to help keep our drinks chilly!

 

It was so nice to have some girl talk and get a little tipsy in the middle of the day!

Kitchen Sink

I am light on recent pictures to post, but I always feel like I have photos I never get around the posting, so I was looking at older pictures to see what might be worth sharing.  I found some which require longer posts, but since I only have time right now for a short post, I thought I might share these.

 

 

 

They are from 2012 at my old apartment before I moved in with Colin.  They are random, but they made me smile.  I still have my trio of hand soap/ dish soap/ lotion on a little tray, but right now my tray is a basic white rectangle since the lovely plate in these photos broke while packing. boo!
