Little Brother is a Home Owner!!!

So my brother Kevin just closed on his first home! A condo for him and his little dog Deja. So my family went over there the day he got his keys to check it out! It is so nice! Especially the kitchen! I am way jealous. And he has a garbage disposal! I dream of having a garbage disposal!

I got him some nice housewarming gifts!

Photobucket

There was one piece of furniture when we visited, but Kevin sure was excited to have his own place! And look a fireplace!

Photobucket

I told him to pose, but this is what I got! He is excited on the inside!

Photobucket

And look at that great mom!

Congrats Kevin!!!!!!

Crate and Barrel Glasses

So I was a very good girl....well sort of! I had wanted some glasses from Crate and Barrel around christmas and was planning on using christmas money for them. But I ran out of christmas money long before I made it to the mall....so I decided that would just need to wait rather then use my magic money for them (aka credit card) Good Girl Megan!
BUT I made a ton of money babysitting two weeks ago, so I decided I could head over to Crate and Barrel and armed with $40 cash get some new stuff! Good Girl Megan- not the shopping part, but the waiting and using cash part! : )

What did I get you ask?????
(click on text above picture for links)

I got one of these. Since I keep breaking the ones I have.

I got 4 of these. They are very thin, I give them about 3 months! haha

Then I got 6 of these. Not that I don't still heart my plastic Target tumblers and my stolen beer pints, but I decided this girl was ready for some grown-up glasses!

I brought all my new loot home, washed them, and of course tested them!!! : )

The Big Snow Storm

S0 a few days after the disappointing Nor'easter that delivered only 3" of snow.....another storm came and delivered quite a bit more! 8 to 14" in our area!!! Now that is a snow storm!!!! I put a ruler in the snow on the table out back and it came up to 9" by the end of the storm!

So on snow day #1, aside from shoveling twice, I worked from home, I cleaned the office and then Ashley and I went out for some snowday dinner and snowday wine....When you live in a downtown you don't need a car to sit at a bar! : )

I ended up taking a snow day #2 since I had a day off coming my way and overnight another few inches of snow blocked my car in and I had to use the snow blower. YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT, I USED THE SNOWBLOWER!!!!!!!!!!

Then I made some soup (healthy chicken veggie) and did some laundry. Then in the evening I met Katie and Kerri for some naughty Fudruckers burgers which we ate with our crying headaches after watching Dear John. Which was better than I thought it was going to be but SO SAD!

It was a nice mid week break!

A Sort of Snowy Saturday, Some Italian Wedding Soup and a Night Out

So 2 weekends ago we were supposed to get a HUGE storm, and only ended up getting 3". What a let down! But I had bought snow day soup supplies so my roommate and I hit the kitchen anyway.

Photobucket

We made Italian Wedding Soup and used THIS RECIPE from The Barefoot Contessa. It came out great, although I will make some changes to the meatballs next time.

Photobucket

It called for chicken sausage and that is what I am going to leave out next time. Or perhaps try a different brand, since I didn't like the sausage, it had cheap tasting italian seasoning in it that was N.G. No Good! Ashley was pretty sure fennel was the main offending spice, but either way....no sausage next time!

The Ingredients:

Just showing off my new ladel! I space out buying kitchen supplies so I can afford the nice oxo ones! Oh wait, there is one more important ingredient! Wine! The most important one! : )

C-I-T-Y with P-O-L-L-Y

So a few weekends ago I headed into the city to see my friend Polly. We went out to a yummy dinner and then did some bar hopping in her neighborhood. Two of her friends joined us and we had a good time!

Photobucket

This sign was on a bathroom door.....te he he...

One of the bars we went to was NOT fun, but we ordered a round so we had to stay for a short while so we made up a drinking game. Every time you see a guy in a striped button down...DRINK!!! haha that got those beers down Fast!
(and the fact that if I was still 23 I would have LOVED that bar but at 28 we couldn't leave fast enough was a sad sad realization! Getting Old!)

Photobucket

DRINK!!!!!! DRINK!!!!!!

Then we hit up a low key bbq place for some extra fine and fancy spirits! : ) Nothing says " Manhattan" like some PBR!

Photobucket

And just a few reminders for you all......

and more importantly

Thanks for a fun Polly! Can't wait to come again!

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day Kids! : ) So as most of you know, for my Valentines Greetings I went with cupcake cards. I can't take credit for the idea though. I stumbled across it, when I was hunting for Valentine Inspiration.

I found it on this blog, but she had linked it in from this blog. So Here was the inspiration cupcake, but I made a few changes! from: Scrapscene.com

I hope you all enjoyed your V-day Greeting. (And please know I had no intention of doing confetti this round, I figured I would give your vacuums a break, I had punched all those mini hearts to be sprinkles on the cupcakes, but decided against it, and I had them so.....)
