Celebrating

So you know that exam I took back in December.... well......
I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!

Actually I was more relieved than excited, since it was at least one more of those awful exams behind me....I still have the hardest one to go, but one more down is still worth celebrating!

So myself, Katie and Kerri all went out for a ladies night of champage, naughty bar food and good conversation to toast my passing score! : )

Photobucket

Some cheap champagne (this is the Landscape Architect Exam, not the Bar Exam people) to start off the night! Good thing I bought those champagne glasses the afternoon of my exam. haha (wishful thinking?)

Perhaps we should just have had the server take one of the 3 of us! haha

Me pretending the fur on Katie's coat is one of those shawls with the head and teeth.

Photobucket

Remember those?????? Sick!

Photobucket

We ran out of regular straws so Katie went all fancy!

Thank for celebrating with me ladies....One more exam to go, then we can REALLY Celebrate!

Bulbs in the Yard

Although I have not been blogging, I have been snapping some quick pictures of the bulbs in my yard, since I am exciting the growing season is upon us!

I know to you these pictures might not be that exciting, but to a gardener...these little sprouts of life are pretty exciting indeed!

Photobucket

Some early blooming crocuses from last month.....

Photobucket

A pretty scented Hyacinth, the lone one in the yard standing proud....

Photobucket

The pale two toned Daffodils are my favorite ones....

Photobucket

Again a picture that might not seem that exciting, but look at those baby climbing Rose leaves...Love them!

These bulbs are making my pretty happy!

So Excited

Are you as excited as I am???? One more week! Just one more week! : )

New Pillows - Finally

SO I have been wanting new pillows for quite some time now.....um like a year. The old red and yellow ones had seen better days and I kind of wanted to spruce things up with a new look anyway.

Photobucket

I had seen these on the nevavon shop on Etsy months ago and I have longed for them every since... (look around at her pillows, LOVE them!)

Photobucket

The master plan was 2 of them, mixed with some plain tan pillows, then perhaps one or two more pillows to pull the colors out of the rug...but I just kept putting off shopping due to paying for things like groceries and utility bills ( I know, Right!?)

BUT then I walked into Costco and saw these great tan pillows for $7+/- each and I figured I shouldn't pass them up and I should get my pillow shopping on!

Photobucket

They weren't exactly what I was envisioning, but for $7 come on over and spill red wine on them and I won't even get mad at you. So after getting those, I splurged on my Etsy ones and even though I still need to get 1 or 2 more pillows to pull out the muted red and butter cream yellow colors in the rug, I think the couch is MUCH improved. One more pillow shopping trip and that ghetto hand-me-down couch is going to look SUPER CLASSY if I do say so myself! : )

Photobucket
(Please also note the white throw I got on a recent trip to Ikea with Erin, to hide the mis-matched cushion.)
I wanted to get this pillow from the joom shop on Etsy as my sassy colorful one, but I now that I have the others on the couch, I am not sure this will really do the trick to tie the rug in... Fun though.

I should be back soon, I promise

Sorry I have been M.I.A for a while, I have had a lot going on. I should be back soon, I promise. Hopefully I can get some good posts up later this week, since I have a lot of photos to share! : )

In the meantime please enjoy some rain soaked Andromeda flowers from measuring in the rain this morning, since they look a lot prettier rain soaked than I do!

the perfect avacado

I had no plans of boring you with a post about an avacado BUT I am going to since the other night I cut into what I thought was going to be an over ripe avacado that I would throw right away and it ended up being PERFECT!!!!

So here is my PERFECT avacado! I was so excited!

A Anthropologie Napkin

So I recently discovered that I heart Anthropologie. But sadly my budget doesn't really allow me to do much shopping there. I don't even look at the clothes, I don't want to be tempted. I just head the housewares sections since there is at least a thing or two over there I might be able to afford.

The first time I checked it out, I got....drum roll...one napkin from the sale rack! hahahaha That is about all I can afford there! But I think it looks nice on my buffet and in the center of my dining room table!

I will get my nice things in baby steps! One cloth napkin at a time!!!! : )

A Fallen Friend

So I was very excited to receive from Nora a shiny hot pink gnome. Seriously, who wouldn't be!?! I got him for christmas and for a brief moment I thought he was an elf and I was very sad I was going to have to put him away with the christmas decorations! Then thankfully I came to my senses and realized he was a gnome and he could be out year round and thus he remained standing proud and tall on my night stand.

Take a peak, don't you love him!?!

Photobucket

Oh no, do you see what I see? OH NO!!!! He fell off my night stand and broke!!!!!!!!!

Photobucket

Thankfully I think a quick super glue surgery should restore him good as new. Perhaps I will schedule that surgery for today. Snow days are good days for gnome fixing right?

Soap Holder

So I got this pretty plate at Homegoods a while ago, and although I hearted it, I think I had only used it once and that was such a shame.

Photobucket

Then I saw in one of my magazines someone had this pretty silver tray that they used for salt, pepper, etc.. Things that they used cooking, but then also brought to the table for serving. And I thought, what a good idea. Then that gave me the idea to use my pretty plate to hold all my soaps and sponges in the kitchen to make it nice and neat and keep the rim of the sink soap residue and clutter free!

I love this idea, so I figured I would share! It keeps things neat, and looks pretty! Just the way I like everything to be! Neat and Pretty! : )

Note to self- Pale green dish soap coordinates much better than bright blue dish soap! : )
Yes that is dish soap, I find it much easy to have it with a pump! And the sponges and brush are tucked behind all the bottles.
