Thursday and Friday

So since I bored you with my Monday to Wednesday a few weeks ago, I figured I should fill you in on my Thursday and Friday of that week, since I am sure you are all sitting at the edge of your seats to find out how the rest of week was. hahaha

Thursday - My good friend Erin came over that Thursday for dinner. I had mini heirloom tomatoes from the farmers market I wanted to use so I made a quick tomato salad (basically the same way I make bruschetta - just less strong).

Erin did the rest of the cooking that night and dinner was so good! Healthy fresh and very very yummy!

She sauteed some zucchini and squash, also from the farmers market.

And she made Salmon. She made it on top of the stove, but I made basically the same thing for my parents last week and I baked it in the oven, so you can do it either way! : )

She used dill, lemon basil and parsley all cut up fine and mixed together, pine nuts, garlic, then sauteed it up with a tiny bit of butter, olive oil and fresh lemons.

And a little bread, add a little wine and dinner is served! Thanks for cooking Erin!

Friday- Friday was a delightful day, my coworker and I ended up having a impromptu lady day (on company time! haha) We were out in a rural town doing some site work. We headed to a cute downtown to grab some lunch, and decided to actually stop a real restaurant rather than eat a sandwich in the car. : )

Photobucket

And right next to where we parked just happened to be 2 cute antique shops! haha So we might have "accidentally" stumbled in on our way back to the car.

How fun are these, old playground toys!

This chest needed to be completely re-finished, but was a really nice piece with really nice detailing. (Mickey, I love you as much as the next girl, but you don't belong on furniture!)
And I really liked that dresser.

These were nice pots, if they were filled with annuals near a nice pool! : )

This is the type of table I am looking for for the living room, but I need it short, not tall. But I like the simple spindle legs and how the piece isn't over powering. Just need to find a short one, with perhaps a round top.

This picture isn't that great, but these mugs were awesome. This fun leaf pattern in these great shades of blue and green.

I have been wanting a little antique silver soon for my sugar bowl, and this place had a box of $3 spoons! Jack pot! These were the ones we narrowed it down to. I wanted all of them, but I didn't need all of them!

Photobucket

So I went with the 2nd on in from the left, and I did get the larger serving spoon too. For $3 I figured it was ok. : ) Now I need to get some silver polish.

A nice nice yard

As promised here are some pictures of one of MY designs. The pictures are not too great, but you get the point!

We designed it last year and it was installed this spring. Planting pictures look better after they have filled a few years, but I still wanted to share. : )

Photobucket

I love Coneflower!

Photobucket
Oh and I love Bluestone!

A fancy fireplace!

The interior designer picked out the tile. So pretty!

Here you can see the lower dining patio with the grill, then there are 2 steps up to the fireplace seating area.

A little woodland patio in the side yard for another place to sit.

Photobucket

This is around the diving board of the pool. None of the other pool planting looked good in the photos, they need more time to grow! Grow little plant-ies Grow!

This is the paver detailing between the garage and the asphalt driveway. Such a nice detail.

Some Imaginary Ballard Designs Shopping

So I was looking through the dreamy Ballard Designs catalog while I ate lunch today. I figured I would share my thoughts with you. : )

Look at this desk! Isn't it gorgeous! Love it!

And look at this console, and how much it looks like what I have in my dining room. It costs $400 and my was only a fraction of that at a garage sale! Yay! I actually saw the exact same piece at a local store, and was quite happy I didn't spend near what the price tag said! : )

I like these prints.

I LOVE these prints! How nice would they be in my dining room? Too bad they are so expensive! boo!

My week so far

Please be warned this is a pretty boring post. But I thought I might share with you my week thus far.

Monday - I caught up on some CSI that has been camping out on my DRV and Brian Krakow from 'My So Called Life' was on the epsiode. And I must say, he looks pretty good. Being a man suits him! hahaha

Tuesday - Molly and I went to see Ramona and Beezus. It was really cute. I suggest you go see it. I don't totally remember the books, considering I read them, dare I say, 20 years ago, but it seemed like they kind of just combined all the book for the movie. It was good, I enjoyed it.

I was hoping for 2 things I remembered, one was her squeezing all the tooth paste out into the sink, and her mom making her scoop it back into a bag and reuse it! haha Which they did address. But I also wanted to see the bratty little neighbor cut open her teddy bear to see if it had bones, which did not happen. haha

Added bonus was Josh Duhamel and Ginniger Goodwin. Ginniger Goodwin was fantastic as Aunt Bea, great clothes and super sassy. And well, no one complains about Josh Duhamel being in a movie!

Wednesday - I took my first trip to the Cheesecake Factory. I had never been, and was running errands with my roommate and we got some dinner. The menu was HUGE! As were the portions! I just got a salad, and I think I brought home more than I ate. Although I was tempted by these avacado rolls on the app menu! Next time! Yum!

Hooray for Chandeliers!

Guess what I have????? A NEW CHANDELIER!!!! And guess where it is????? HANGING FROM MY CEILING!!!!!!!!!! Yay!

Photobucket

So as many of you know, I have been chandelier shopping for the past few months. Ill give you the short version, and perhaps save the long version for another post. You know, so we can just get right to the good stuff!

I decided that I had enough of the landlord's dated fixture, and I would get my own chandelier. (Don't worry, the landlord's fixture is resting safety in bubble wrap in the attic.)

Photobucket

I had shopped online, and looked around at some stores, and was kind of on-the-fence about what type to get, what color to get, and about how much I really wanted to spend! (yikes!)

But I jumped right off that fence when I was stopped dead in my tracks at the "store" section of a house tour I went on this spring. Had I found it? Had I finally found my chandelier????

Photobucket

I contemplated, I paced, I measured, I lingered.....Yes I think this is what I want! It was so dreamy!!!! So I raced home to measure the ceiling and the table and......hooray it would fit! Sold!

I bought it a while ago and finally got it hung up this weekend! Feast your eyes kids! Feast your eyes on my dreamy chandelier! : ) YAY!

Photobucket

Photobucket

It does look a bit over-the-top, but I guess that means I just need to class up the rest of this joint to follow suit! (And I know it looks a little weird scooped over to the side, but it just makes the most sense to have it centered on the table!)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Whoa, so much for the short version! Who wants to come over and dine under the new chandelier!?!?!?!
