And here is a little preview of my new office! The pictures didn't come out that great since I used my phone. I'll take better ones with a real camera once everything is totally put together.

Chex Party Mix

My mom usually makes Chex Party mix around the Holidays so I have been craving it! : ) I made a batch on New Years Eve, and then I made another on New Years Day!

(It soaks up Champagne pretty well! hehe)

Chex Party Mix

Ingredients:

3 cups Corn Chex® cereal
3 cups Rice Chex® cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex® cereal
1 cup mixed nuts
1 cup bite-size pretzels
1 cup bagel chips, broken into 1-inch pieces
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

I measured out the butter and cereal, but I didn't measure any of the seasonings. And I added a bit more seasoning half way through to make sure it was extra yummy!

Oven Directions:

Heat oven to 250°F. In large bowl, mix cereals, nuts,
pretzels and bagel chips; set aside. In ungreased large roasting pan, melt
butter in oven. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in cereal mixture until
evenly coated. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to
cool, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.

Christmas Antique Shopping

Last year ago Nicole and I did a little post Christmas Antique Shopping and it was so much fun we decided to go again this year!!!! And this year, we graciously invited Colin and Matt to join us.

Photobucket

Matthew Jr. is an old pro though, we went with us this summer.

He is an exception to the 'no boys allowed' rule. : )

We had some very yummy lunch and went wandering through old treasures (mixed with weird old junk). I saw a number of things I liked and wanted, but I did buy anything this trip.

Photobucket

I was tempted to get this awesome aqua table, but it was a bit more than I wanted to spend, especially when I didn't have a place in mind to put it!

Photobucket

I also loved this "sofa table" and "coffee table".

Photobucket

Nicole was tempted by this dresser...

Photobucket

I wanted one of these wine caddies, but I didn't get one. Maybe next time! Nicole found one way cheaper than all the others, so she got to take one home!

Nicole maybe you should fill it with wine and invite me over! : )

Photobucket

Colin found some boy antiques...we felt like Mike and Frank! : )

Photobucket

Photobucket

And I love going around christmas since there are lots of santas and pretty vintage ornaments!

Yay! I need to save my pennies so next time I can come home with a treasure!

Olive Oil in its Sunday Best

I have wanted a nice oil olive container for a while, but I just have never bought one. Just one of those things you don't really need, so I never wanted to spend the money on it. But as Colin and I were strolling through Home Goods last weekend, this one caught my eye and for $3.99 I took the plunge! hahaha Got to love Home Goods!

Photobucket

(Although we went in there with only about 15 minutes of time, which was really hard, I had to pick and chose which sections I had time to look in! I don't like to be rushed in Home Goods!)

Oh so Lovely! What should I cook????

Martha gets me everytime

I am so often distracted by things I don't need while shopping, but I was confident I could get in and out of Home Depot without a problem...a little potting soil, a new show shovel...and I would be on my way.

BUT NO...Thanks to Martha, I was even distracted in the Home Depot!!!!

Photobucket

Don't worry, I stayed strong and did not buy this, but oh, how I wanted to! It would look so nice on the glass door at the top my front stairs. A pine cone wreath COVERED IN GLITTER!!!!

Three cheers for me staying strong and not buying it!

Photobucket

Everything is better with Glitter!

Everyone knows that!

Happy Thanksgiving

Photobucket

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!!

I am really excited for a nice long weekend! Colin got me some nice fall flowers to have around the house this weekend! What a nice way to start a vacation...flowers! : )

Pasta Primavera

I have made this twice now and it is SO good! And other than the time it takes to cut up all the veggies, it is pretty easy! : )

Here is the link to the real recipe, it is a Giada De Laurentiis Recipe on http://www.foodnetwork.com/

Photobucket

Photobucket

Ingredients3 carrots, peeled and cut into thin strips
2 medium zucchini or 1 large zucchini
, cut into thin strips
2 yellow squash, cut into thin strips
1 onion, thinly sliced
1
yellow bell pepper, cut into thin strips
1
red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
1/4 cup olive oil

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon dried 'Herbess de Provence'

1 pound
pasta

15 cherry tomatoes, halved1/2 cup grated Parmesan

Photobucket

Once you cut, you coat....Don't forget to set the table!!!!

Directions
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
On a large heavy baking sheet, toss all of the vegetables with the oil, salt, pepper, and dried herbs to coat. Transfer half of the vegetable mixture to another heavy large baking sheet and arrange evenly over the baking sheets. Bake until the carrots are tender and the vegetables begin to brown, stirring after the first 10 minutes, about 20 minutes total.

It might take more than 20 minutes to roast the veggies

Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente, tender but still firm to the bite, about 8 minutes. Drain, reserving 1 cup of the cooking liquid.
Toss
the pasta with the vegetable mixtures in a large bowl to combine. Toss with the cherry tomatoes and enough reserved cooking liquid to moisten. Season the pasta with salt and pepper, to taste. Sprinkle with theParmesan and serve immediately.

Out of the oven and time to mix!

Yum!!! Dinner is served!
