Since we got back from vacation in February, we have been bustling around doing a lot of work to our house, buying things for the house, updating the house etc.. We got a lot done and now we are taking a nice long break. Not there isn't more to do, but our bank accounts need a break!( And I bet our Dad's need a break from helping too! haha)
Although this break happens to coincide with Spring, so it might end up being more of a 'switch gears to outside' than a break....we have tax returns right? : )
Although we are in break mode, I still have a number of updates to post about, so I'll keep them coming. Today I would like to share with you our new light fixtures! The pictures leave a bit to be desired since I forgot to get before pictures and I think most of them were on my phone. haha
But I still wanted to share.
#1 light fixture to replace was the fluorescent box over the kitchen sink! Fluorescent Box!!! Sinfully Ugly! I spend way too much time dreaming up lovely and expensive replacement options, but when all said and done, we just got a simple pendent from Lowe's. It gets the job done and Colin said perhaps in the future I can get my swoony gooseneck light. : )

#2 and #3 were the light fixtures in the hallway to our bedroom and the bottom of the stairs. Neither were particularly offensive, but we still wanted a nice update. We went with simple sleek shade pendents from Home Depot. Again, I had some fancier ones in mind, but these do a great job of updating the space and making the hall and stair case a bit more modern. AND more importantly we got rid of one 'boob' light...so many more to go though! haha

As you can see the ceiling was last painted around the old fixtures, so we will need to address that at some point.

Stay tuned for the updated power room and laundry room! : )
