Plate Covers

Last year my Dad and I painted the back entry way/laundry room/powder room gray.  The gray looked awesome against the white trim, but what didn't look awesome against the white trim was the off white/cream light switches and switch plates. : (

I know that is a really minor detail of a home, that most people wouldn't notice, but it bugged me.  So Colin and I headed to Home Depot to get some white switches and white switch plates.  Although while we were there, I noticed the paintable metal switch covers that can be painted the same color as the walls! SOLD! Bring them home!!!

Not going to lie, they totally sat in a bag for quite some time, but when Colin's Dad was over to help with the door knobs, he also helped with the new switches, so I got painting those covers!

We just got a paint brush from Michaels, not sure if that is what you should use, but it worked.  I gave them 3 coats and I even did my best to paint the tops of the screws.  Once dried, it was time to hang them up!

It is a big improvement! Yay!
