Chairs!!!

SO last March I had showed you my "Front Room" post.....since I had come so far from the empty room we had moved into....But what we didn't have was chairs.... We had a sofa, and a coffee table.....then on the other side...nothing...

And I noticed we weren't really using that room, even with the couch, since there was no easy way to set up conversational seating unless we borrowed my parent's folding chairs (which we often do when we entertained).

Chairs..Chairs..Chairs...it consumed me for a while... real grown up furniture costs a small fortune, and I wasn't having any luck at my usually "budget friendly" stores or websites...I was getting discouraged...would we ever find chairs that I both liked and we could afford????

I had seen an ad for a "discount" warehouse furniture store, there were 2 in the state.  So one weekend this fall we decided to check it out..I figured we were wasting our time..but I dragged Colin there anyway.

The place was huge, tons of styles, tons of furniture!  I use the word "discount" loosely, since the place was not cheap...I suppose it was cheaper than high end furniture stores, but far from "discount".  But we lucked out and they were having a 50% off upholstery sale so we wandered around...

Right in the front of the store was a lovely white chair...we sat down on it and it got even better, it was a swivel rocker!!! Just like the chairs my grandparents have that we all used to fight over as kids - the Best Seat in the House!

BUT there was only one, and it has a sold sticker on it! A sales person quickly came up to us to let us know there were 2 and the couple that had put the "sold" sticker on it was 'on the fence', and to keep shopping and she would let us know if they actually wanted to buy them or not...

Luck would have it, they decided not to buy them and they were ours!!! As we were checking out, the lady who thought about buying them came over to say hi and to tell me she was happy they were going to a good home.  She had wanted it for a nursery, but she wasn't actually pregnant so her husband told her no...hahaha girls are CRAZY!

So we brought one home and waited for the 2nd which needed to be repaired...it came about 2 months later..broken...yes the chair closest to the door is broken..but at least you can sit on it for the moment and they are making us a new one...

I might regret the purchase of white chairs in the future with kids, but for right now, they are lovely and I love them.  I might be a little crazy about keeping them clean, but that is ok, I am always a little crazy. (the blanket on the corner of the one by the door is there since everyone puts their hand there when the open the door...see already crazy)

Who wants to come over and have a conversation across the room since we finally have seating on both sides of the room??????
