Office Inspiration

I have pinned/found a number of office/craftroom inspiration images but when I stumbled upon this one...it was very motivating.  Instead of just adding it to the collection, I got inspired and started thinking about actually making things happen.

I wasn't going to bother painting since even once done and fabulous, this still won't be a super used room.  But after looking at that image and all the images of the rest of the space (click source link to see the full blog post of that office) I decided I am going to paint!

I have wanted to do the formal living room a light warm gray, and I figured a light warm gray would work well upstairs too.  And like this photo, I figured it would be a combo of white and gray, but my white would be on top, rather than theirs which is on the bottom.

I planned on keeping the sloped portions of the room white, and just painting the flat walls gray.  But in standing around up here this morning, I think I might need to also paint the sloped walls.

Please weigh in, as I am not sure what to do!

Will the sloped walls being white make the room bigger and more open?  OR will it make the room feel like the ceiling is caving in on you?????

Here are some pictures of the current space to ponder with.  Don't mind the mess, it is work in progress.  And don't congratulate me on it being way better then before, since all I did was move all the junk over to Colin's room! HA!  I had to get it out to work on cleaning, but ran out of steam and it has been sitting over in his upstairs room for a few months. : /

Do I paint the sloped portions white or gray???????? Help!
