Dreaming of….a Kitchen Island

So I love kitchen islands and I can’t wait until I have a big one in my real grown-up kitchen with white cabinets, white subway tile back splash, black granite countertops and a garbage disposal! (oh man do I want a garbage disposal!) (No I am not being sassy, I really want one, bad!)

But Emily downstairs has a very mini island, which has slowly been growing on me…So when my dad put together a kitchen cart for the corner, I decided to use it as a mini island for a few days to see if I like it. AND…..the verdict is….I Love It! Let’s hope new roommate Jen likes it too so I can keep it! And if it is on wheels it can easily be tucked away when it is in the way!

This would be a nice one to get for real (since I would like that cart in the corner which is why I got it in the first place). Who knew JC Pennies had such nice stuff? I always forget about that store!

Or perhaps I will just get another one of these Ikea carts since it is like ¼ of the price and I am paint the bottom white or a fun color.

It would actually be awesome to find some old legs and get new butcher block top, but I wonder how long it would take to “stubble” upon something like this…. I saw this on Apartment Therapy.
