Since I put my Mood Board together, we have been working hard (and shopping hard) to put our front room together. We are not 100% but it has come a long way and looks like a real room now! : )
Check it out!
We started with a couch, I had wanted a herringbone tweed couch, and I figured we had no chance of finding that at one of the more discount places. I figured we would either need to go to a more expensive place where you pick your style and then pick a fabric...or I would just need to go figure out another couch I liked. But around New Years Ashley's Furniture was running a commercial and the couches looked nice, so we went to check it out. And we found it!
A herringbone tweed couch!!! Yay!
The couch hung out all by it's lonesome for a while, but then a few weeks ago, we kicked it into high gear to get the room more ready for our housewarming party.
I ordered pillow and curtains off Etsy and we got a rug and a coffee table. (More on those items in another post)
Then after multiple trips to multiple Home Goods, I was able to find two matching turquoise end tables. I had not planned on getting end tables, but they were too fab to not bring home!
We still need to get a new floor lamp, but we found a table lamp at Home Goods too. I had seen glass lamp bases on Pottery Barn and Shades of Light, but I didn't want to spend that much, so I went to Home Good with my fingers crossed there would be glass lamps! And there was! woo hoo! Seeded glass just for me! (I had originally wanted a blue/turquoise/green one, but on the painted tables, I think clear works best anyway.) It had a wicker shade on it, which neither of us cared for, so we bought a gray one instead. The tones in the wicker actually worked in the room, but I still wanted the sleeker gray one.
Does anyone want the wicker shade? Let me know, it is just chilling upstairs brand new.
Once the basics were covered, I focused on getting a few knick knacks. I got this metal globe and this awesome blown gas jar/vase at local gift stores. I got frames from Target and Home Goods, which we got pictures in a few hours before our housewarming party! haha
We still need two big comfy chairs (which shopping for has been a sore spot with me, I pride myself on hunting down bargain versions of the expensive stuff I like, and I fell flat with the chairs...so Ill try again in the spring...) We also need some artwork and I would like to paint at some point.
And we got our fireplace fixed so this is the first weekend we have had a fire going and it is so lovely! I am blogging fireside right now! : )
Hope you enjoy my front room! Does anyone want to come over for lady drinks in our formal living room?????
